While the exact total number is not an official, publicly published figure, sources indicate that only a limited number of Volkswagen Golf 1 Cabriolet were imported into South Africa. They were brought in as complete units and were a niche offering compared to the locally produced, mass-market Citi Golf. The convertible version. This particular vehicle was assembled by Ockert Grobler at Dornat Motors, Mayfair, Johannesburg in January 1990. Even the Windscreen Sunscreen has been with the vehicle since then.

The car has been perfectly maintained since new and is in its original condition and is a two owner car from new. The roof is in good condition and interior is in very good order. The original alloy wheels are still fitted.

There are full books with the car. Last service done at GT Clubsport in Motague Gardens at 101400km.

This is a bit of a time warp car as it has not been modified or altered in anyway and is ready for some open top road trips.
