Description

1971 Reg 1972 Mercedes-Benz 350SL R107

The Mercedes-Benz R107 SL marked the beginning of a new era for the legendary SL line. Introduced in 1971 as the successor to the much-loved “Pagoda”, the R107 arrived with greater comfort, more luxury, stronger road presence, and a design that would go on to become one of Mercedes-Benz’s most enduring icons.

This 1971 350SL is an early example of the series and was first registered in August 1972. Finished in period-correct gold metallic with a original brown MB – Tech vinyl interior in super condition and matching brown soft top, it carries all the style and charm expected from a classic 1970s Mercedes roadster, fitted with the centre dash clock.

Power comes from the smooth 3.5-litre V8 engine, paired with an automatic transmission, delivering effortless cruising and refined performance. As with the early 350SL models, this example also features the desirable centre dash clock, a detail unique to the earlier cars and loved by collectors.

With its elegant colour combination, early R107 appeal, V8 power, and indicated mileage of 134,200 km, this 350SL represents a stylish and highly usable classic Mercedes-Benz.

A rare and sought-after SL, both locally and internationally, and a wonderful opportunity for the collector looking for open-top grand touring with genuine period character.
