While the Ford Sierra was sold internationally, it was South Africa that transformed it into a true performance icon. Developed locally under the project name “Toni”, the Sierra XR6 became one of the most recognised fast Fords of its era, combining everyday practicality with genuine performance credentials.

At the heart of the XR6 sits the locally produced 3.0-litre Essex V6 from Ford’s Struandale Engine Plant in Port Elizabeth, producing 112kW and 236Nm through a 5-speed manual gearbox. With sharper handling and strong V6 torque, the XR6 earned a reputation as a race car for the road and quickly became part of South African motoring folklore.

This “Ravishing” red example presents in largely original condition and has benefitted from some minor cosmetic attention while still retaining its authentic character. A nostalgic and increasingly collectible South African performance Ford, the Sierra XR6 remains a favourite among enthusiasts and collectors alike.
