When production of the legendary Sierra XR6 came to an end in 1992, Ford South Africa introduced its successor — the fuel-injected Sierra 3.0i RS. Developed jointly by SAMCOR and Lucas, the updated V6 package delivered 117kW and 260Nm, bringing improved drivability and refinement to one of South Africa’s favourite performance sedans of the era.

Produced in limited numbers, with approximately 508 hatchback examples believed to have been sold over its short production run, the 3.0i RS remains a rare sight today and an increasingly collectible piece of local Ford performance history.

This red example has benefitted from restoration work and presents in good overall condition. The car drives very well, the air conditioning blows cold, and it retains the engaging analogue driving experience that made the Sierra range so popular with enthusiasts.
