The Morris Minor is one of Britain’s most recognisable and much-loved classics. Produced by Morris Motors from 1948 to 1971, it made its debut at the Earls Court Motor Show in London in October 1948 and was designed under the leadership of Alec Issigonis.
Built across three main series, the Morris Minor became a true motoring icon, with more than 1.6 million examples produced. The Minor 1000 series, introduced in 1956, brought improved performance and usability while retaining the charming styling and simple mechanical layout that made these cars so popular.
This 1960 Morris Minor 1000 2 Door is finished in cream with a brown interior and is fitted with the 948cc 4-cylinder engine, paired to a 4-speed manual transmission. It has all the honest, easy-going character that made the Minor such a favourite with generations of drivers.
The vehicle has been standing for a long period and is currently not running. It will require TLC and recommissioning before being returned to road use, including at least a new battery, fluid checks, brake inspection and general setup.
The bodywork and paint will also require attention to make the car more presentable.
For the right enthusiast, this Morris Minor offers a worthwhile classic project with strong charm, simple mechanicals and plenty of period appeal.
