Description

This Gorgeous Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4.2 was manufactured on 16 May 1966 and delivered to its first owner in Malawi just ten days later. From there, the car journeyed to Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, before being acquired by its current owner in 1982 and imported to South Africa in 1983, where it has remained ever since.

In 2011, the E-Type underwent an exhaustive nut-and-bolt restoration, a multi-year project that brought the vehicle back to its original glory. During the process, virtually every component was rebuilt or replaced, with numerous new parts imported to ensure authenticity—including a fresh set of spoke wheels that enhance its classic appeal.

According to the Jaguar Heritage Trust, only approximately 2,404 automatic E-Types were ever produced, of which 370 were right-hand drive. From this figure, only 44 right-hand drive automatic units were sold outside the UK and USA, making this example one of just 44 worldwide—a true rarity.

The car is accompanied by a Jaguar Heritage Certificate, confirming its provenance and historical significance. Presented today in outstanding restored condition, this E-Type is not only visually stunning but also ready to be enjoyed on the road, offering a rare opportunity to own one of Jaguar’s most iconic and exclusive grand tourers.
