Description

The 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 marked the final year of the larger-bodied first-generation Mustang and retained much of the bold, muscular styling introduced in 1971. Updates for 1973 included a revised grille with integrated turn signals, bright-metal headlight and taillight bezels, and changes to the front bumper and fenders to meet new federal safety regulations.

This example is presented as an almost restoration. It runs and drives, while a number of trim pieces and beadings remain in the boot and still require fitting.

From the factory, the car was equipped with the 351 cu. in. Cleveland V8 in 2V specification. It has since been fitted with an Edelbrock intake manifold and a four-barrel carburettor. Power is delivered through a 3-speed automatic transmission.

The car is finished in red with a black interior and sits on chrome steel wheels with chrome hubcaps. With further attention and completion of the remaining restoration work, this Mach 1 has the potential to become a striking show car and an enjoyable American V8 cruiser.
