The BMW Gentleman’s Racer – Alpina Precision on an E30 Platform
Alpina, the name alone says precision, rarity, and understated power. This BMW C1 2.3 (E30) is build number 0069, produced by B. Bovensiepen KG, and represents the early days when Alpina transformed BMW’s E30 chassis into precision-crafted High Performance machines. Hand-finished, numbered, and individually tuned, each C1 2.3 delivered sharper throttle response, more torque, and impeccable balance.
This particular car is a UK-imported Sytner BMW (Approved Alpina Agents) right-hand-drive example, making it one of the few genuine Alpina C1s in South Africa. Finished in gloss black and proudly wearing its Alpina Rear boot spoiler, signature striping, and 16-inch Alpina multi-spoke wheels and engine upgraded to 2.5 at Alpina Buchloe Germany. It’s an icon of discreet performance with a modified Alpina ECU. Inside, the Alpina green-and-blue cloth upholstery, unique instrument cluster, Alpina Steering and 5-speed manual gearbox complete the driver-focused setup.
With just 61,240 miles indicated, this E30 Alpina remains a beautifully preserved slice of 1980s performance history, refined, rare, and engineered for purists who know the difference.
One of only 69 world wide.
