R3 950 000
The Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 Series 1 is one of those Ferraris that just gets it right. Elegant, usable and backed by that early Ferrari charm, it makes a very strong case for itself as an investment-grade classic that can still be properly enjoyed. As one of the last of the more traditional ladder-frame Ferraris, it offers a more direct and honest driving feel, while the legendary Colombo V12 under the bonnet delivers around 300 hp and all the sound, character and theatre you would want from a Ferrari of this era.
Finished in Grigio Fumo with a red interior, this example presents in factory-correct specification and comes with a solid ownership file. It shows several owners from new and was imported into South Africa by Trans Africa Cars on 5 February 1965. More recently, the car has benefited from new upholstery, while the original tool roll still remains in the boot. Recent work carried out includes refreshed carburettors, rebuilt brake boosters, a full service with fresh fluids, attention to the fuel system, underside chassis restoration to correct specification, and restoration of the five original Borrani wheels, now fitted with new Michelin XWX tyres.
With just 625 Series 1 cars produced up to 1965, including 125 interim cars, the 330 GT 2+2 Series 1 remains a rare and highly desirable Ferrari from an era when the marque was building some of its most charismatic road cars.
